Traffic control, planned burn at Glass House Mountains

A planned burn is happening the Blue Gum the Blue Gum section of the Glass House Mountains National Park.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct the burn on Wednesday, 10 August 2022.

As a result, smoke may be seen in the Landsborough and Beerwah area.

Traffic control will be in place along Old Landsborough Road and Newells Road.

The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas.

This section of national park will be closed for the duration of the planned burn.

Residents are being asked to observe all signage, barriers and do not enter closed areas.
