A man has been airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital by the Lifeflight rescue chopper after being bitten by a sea snake at Double Island Point.
The chopper landed on the beach at 10.59am yesterday.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked with local QAS officers to treat the man in his 20s for a bite to his right foot.
Meanwhile, Lifeflight was kept busy on Saturday, called out to back-to-back motorbike crashes.
A woman in her 50s was rescued after crashing her bike near Conondale…she had serious lower leg injuries.
A few hours later Lifeflight was called to the Glass House Mountains after a motorbike collided with a car.
The chopper landed on a school oval and a man in his 20s was treated for chest and abdominal injuries before being flown to the Sunshine Coast Uni Hospital in a serious condition.
