F1 fans are buzzing with excitement as rumours of Daniel Ricciardo’s shock return to the grid gain momentum.
The beloved Aussie driver appears to have been featured in a new advertising campaign for the sport, sparking speculation that his comeback might be closer than anyone expected.
The campaign, promoting F1’s multi-year partnership with PepsiCo, was unveiled with the tagline “Get Race Ready.”
Fans believe the figure in the ad is unmistakably Ricciardo, recognising his iconic nose and face shape, despite the shadowy red and black lighting and extreme close up deliberately obscuring details. While some remain skeptical, the possibility has ignited hope among supporters.
The ad has added fuel to the fire, from reports back in March when Cadillac announced its entry as F1’s 11th team and suggested that they are on the hunt for experienced drivers. Many speculated that Ricciardo, despite declaring he was “done” with the sport, could be a top contender for the seat.
Now, with the latest ad stirring the pot, fans are convinced Ricciardo’s return could be on the horizon.

According to veteran Aussie F1 photographer Kym Illman, the fan favourite “won’t be back”.
He said that “I know stuff, he won’t be back. I think others have reported it, but I feel confident he won’t be back.”
Earlier this year, Daniel Ricciardo bid an emotional farewell to fans during the seventh season of Netflix’s Drive to Survive.
Dressed casually with a glass of whisky in hand, the F1 star reflected on his departure with heartfelt honesty, saying, “This is it… “I have no regrets.”
