Saddle up, because one of Australia’s most beloved rural television dramas is officially making a comeback. After 17 years away from our screens, the Nine Network has confirmed that a McLeod’s Daughters reboot is returning for a brand new series in 2027.

Returning to Drover’s Run

The major announcement was dropped at the Nine 2027 Upfronts in Sydney, sending long-time fans into a complete frenzy. The highly anticipated reboot will be a Stan Original, produced by Werner Film Productions, and promises to take viewers back to the iconic Drover’s Run cattle station.

While a lot has changed since the original series wrapped in 2009, the heart of the show remains exactly the same. The new iteration will continue to focus on strong, resilient women navigating life, love, and the unpredictable challenges of the agricultural world in a modern setting. A teaser trailer has already been released, featuring a drone shot of riders on horseback and a mysterious voiceover declaring: “The place you remember, just never like this”.

Who Will Join the Cast?

As for the cast, official names are currently being kept tightly under wraps. However, fans are already speculating about potential appearances from original favourites. Bridie Carter, who played the much-loved Tess McLeod, has previously mentioned that a reboot would be a “no-brainer” and that she is entirely open to reprising her famous role.

With eight Logie Awards to its name and a legacy that spans 224 original episodes, the return of McLeod’s Daughters is guaranteed to be a major television event. Dust off your boots, because 2027 cannot arrive fast enough.
