A New South Wales woman has died in a Brisbane hospital after being hit by a car in an alleged hit and run on the Sunshine Coast last weekend.
24-year-old Mallee Smith was out with a friend in Maroochydore on Saturday night when they were among eight people deliberately hit by a white Toyota Yaris on a footpath on Aerodrome Road near Fourth Avenue in a road rage incident.
The alleged driver, Brazilian man Guilherme Dal Bo, is currently charged with eight counts of attempted murder.

Police said investigations are continuing but it’s likely one of the charges will be upgraded to murder when he appears in court on Friday.
Ms Smith was visiting family on the Sunshine Coast as a surprise for Christmas.
