Woman dies after e-scooter crash

The woman involved in an e-scooter crash on the Sunshine Coast on the weekend has died from her injuries.

The 33-year-old Wurtulla mother of two was riding on Beerburrum Street at Aroona on Sunday afternoon when she crashed.

She has died from her injuries in hospital.

Acting Inspector Brendan Davis said there have been too many injuries and deaths from personal mobility devices on the Sunshine Coast in the last few weeks.

In October, 8 year-old Zeke Hondow died when he was hit by another illegal e-bike rider at Mountain Creek.

The 15 year-old boy has since been charged with numerous offences, including dangerous driving causing death.

14 people have died on e-mobility devices in Queensland so far this year.

The Premier has ruled out introducing restrictions or bans before a Parliamentary Inquiry hands down its findings next March.
