Weapons, guns, cash and drugs found in police raid on Deception Bay home

Detectives have charged three people with thirty alleged offences following the location and seizure of firearms, drugs and cash at a Deception Bay house on the weekend.

Acting on intelligence from the community, officers executed a search warrant at a Lieutenant Street property on Saturday where four people were located.

It’s alleged they attempted to flee the scene before being taken into custody without incident.

Police allege they located four firearms inside, including a shorted Lithgow rifle and three handguns, one of which was loaded.

It’s further alleged more than $30,000 dollars was located along with 68 grams of methylamphetamine, 500 grams of cannabis, one home-made conducted energy weapon and an imported taser, ammunition and other suspected stolen property.

The street value of the drugs is estimated to be more than $50,000 (methylamphetamine) and $3,500 (cannabis).

Police also allege that a hired Nissan Xtrail located at the property was involved in an incident the previous night.

Patrolling crews attempted to intercept it at Hickson Street, Deagon when it was allegedly driven at speed toward them before fleeing the scene. No one was injured.

Police allege two additional firearms and ammunition were located concealed within the boot of a stolen BMW X3, which was also recovered at the property.

A 41-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with one count each of possess shortened firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, authority required to possess explosives (ammunition) and fail to provide access to data (electronics), two counts of unlawful possession of weapons (category D/H/R), seven drug offences and other stealing offences.

Both men were denied police bail and appeared in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Saturday where they were remanded in custody to appear on July 30.

A 25-year-old Keperra woman was issued a Notice-to-Appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday July 10 for allegedly possessing a drug utensil.
