Noosa residents can start their day with running H2O, with the water turned back on following emergency works.

It was switched off overnight while Unitywater crews fixed a broken water main.

The repairs wrapped up at 3am, four hours ahead of schedule.

Unitywater has thanked residents for their patients, saying a dedicated team worked through the night to safely repair the main and get customers back on supply sooner.

“The location of the main and the way the network drains and fills means we had a complex job ahead of us and Unitywater notified customers ahead of the works to prepare for an extended outage to 7am this morning (Thursday 16 February),” a spokesperson says.

“Thank you to our customers for your understanding during these emergency works.”

Unitywater says customers might experience some cloudy or milky water as a result of the repair works, but that the water is safe to drink.

“Running outside taps for five minutes will help to flush any air in the pipes and water should run clear.”
