A man has had his car stolen at gunpoint in Maroochydore this morning.

Police say a 57-year-old man was driving a grey 2017 Ford Mustang (similar to the one pictured above) through the rear carpark of a shopping complex on Maroochy Boulevard around 5am on Wednesday, when he was cut off by three people in a white Ford ute.

Two male passengers, one armed with a gun, exited the vehicle and threatened the man, ordering him out of his car.

The victim complied and the offenders drove off with the Mustang and the ute onto Plaza Parade.

Police are urgently appealing for anyone who may have seen the Mustang with Queensland registration 673CX6 to not approach the vehicle, but immediately dial Triple Zero (000).
