Sunshine Coast detectives start homicide investigation

Sunshine Coast detectives have launched a homicide investigation after a 53-year-old man died at Parrearra.

Emergency services were called to a Nicklin Way unit complex just before 2.30pm yesterday after reports a man had been injured.

Upon arrival, a 53-year-old Parrearra man was found unresponsive.

Emergency services attempted to assist the man, but he died at the scene.

The area has been declared a crime scene, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.

A 55-year-old Parrearra man was taken into custody at the scene yesterday afternoon and he’s currently assisting police with their enquiries.

It is understood the two men knew each other but are not related.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.
