Police fired five gun shots at a man who allegedly rammed their car and threatened them with a knife in Maroochydore.
The 53 year-old Eumundi man allegedly used his Mercedes to ram the police car with two officers inside, in the car park of the Maroochydore police station around 8.50pm on Friday.
The two uniformed officers were still in the car after returning to the station from a meal break.

Chief Inspector Jason Overland says it’s alleged the man had been waiting in a nearby public car park in his white Mercedes before driving into the station and ramming the unmarked Toyota Camry.
Inspector Overland says a third officer at the station came to the aid of his colleagues and tasered and arrested the man.
He says the incident was over in about 15 seconds and it is fortunate nobody was seriously hurt or killed.
The motivation for the attack is being investigated and there are still bullet holes in the wall of a building adjoining the car park.
The Eumundi man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, endangering police officer when driving a motor vehicle, going armed to cause fear, possession of a weapon, trespass and three counts of serious assault police officer whilst armed.
The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the incident.
