The family of a surf lifesaver who has been missing on the Sunshine Coast since Wednesday is receiving support from the community and authorities.
The 18 year-old man disappeared at Buddina Beach on Wednesday afternoon, shortly before he was due to take part in a training session.
Emergency authorities, including police, the coast guard and life savers have been searching for him ever since.
The search resumed at first light this morning.
Surf Life Saving Queensland Chief Operating Officer, Gregory Cahill, said it is a tough time for the movement.
He said losing “one of your own” makes it very hard.
Mr Cahill has praised everyone involved in the search.
