A rider has been flown to hospital after being thrown from a horse in the Noosa region.

It’s believed the woman, aged in her 50s, was leading another horse yesterday morning, when the one she was riding reared up, causing her to fall and hit the ground.

The rescue helicopter was called into action just before 8.30am and landed at the rural property shortly after.
