Police are continuing their search for a man who allegedly assaulted two men at the Nambour bus interchange on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were initially called to the Civic Way transport station around 3:15pm following reports of two men having been assaulted.
A 39-year-old Two Mile man allegedly had his head stomped on numerous times and was kicked in the head while unconscious.
He’s in an induced coma in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Police are yet to speak to him.
A 33-year-old Maroochydore man, who wrestled with the alleged offender, lost a tooth in the encounter.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield said the attack was random and unprovoked and he described it as brutal
Sergeant Mansfield said the man was acting erratically and caught a bus to Yandina before running into bushland.
The offender is in his early 20s, Caucasian in appearance, with a proportionate build and was wearing a grey jumper, dark shorts, and thongs.
Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage of the incident or CCTV footage of the area to contact police, including anyone who may have seen a man fleeing the area around that time.
