The Sunshine Coast will soon have a new state-of-the-art venue which can host community, business and charity functions.
The venue, which offers panoramic views from the 9th floor of Sunshine Coast City Hall in the Maroochydore City Centre, has been named Altitude Nine.
It will open in October and the venue will soon be taking bookings for a range of events including community functions, corporate events, charity fundraisers, private celebrations such as weddings and workshops.
It will accommodate up to 180 people.
Altitude Nine will be managed by Council’s Community Venues team with income from the venue offsetting costs of Council providing this service to the community.
Sunshine Coast Council Mayor, Mark Jamieson, welcomed the newest addition to the portfolio of venues Sunshine Coast Council owned and operated on behalf of the community.
“With a design inspired by the landscape of the Sunshine Coast and our deep connection to the hinterland, this is an exciting and welcome addition to the Maroochydore city centre and I look forward to seeing our community enjoy this new space,” Mayor Jamieson said.
“The stunning venue continues our commitment to creating and providing places and spaces that build relationships and bring our community together.”
