Police have charged a man following a homicide investigation into a crash that saw two people die at Brooloo west of the Sunshine Coast yesterday.
Police were called to Callemonda Road and Mary Valley Road around 2pm to reports a Suzuki Kizashi had crashed into a tree.
Two passengers, an 83-year-old Kandanga man and an 85-year-old Gympie woman, died at the scene.
The driver, a 61-year-old Valdora man, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter.
He remains under guard in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.
He is expected to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court by way of bedside hearing today.
Investigators continue to appeal to anyone who may have relevant information leading up to the crash or dashcam footage to come forward.
