Midcourter Leesa Mi Mi has re-signed with the Sunshine Coast Lightning for next year’s Super Netball season.
It will be 24 year-old Mi Mi’s third year playing for Lightning and takes the club’s confirmed squad to five with Cara Koenen, Liz Watson, Courtney Bruce and Ash Ervin also under contract.
There are five more places up for grabs with captain Steph Fretwell yet to ink a deal.
The midcourter continues to make an impact with her speed and on-court “smarts” proving invaluable in both the Wing Attack and Centre positions.
After just one year as a contracted athlete in super netball, Mi Mi was selected in the Australian Fast Five team at the end of 2024.
Sunshine Coast Lightning Head Coach Belinda Reynolds praised the 24-year-old and is looking forward to seeing her continue to develop.
“Leesa has been a strong performer for us over the past couple of seasons and continues to improve week-on-week.
“Her speed is definitely impressive, but she’s also incredibly strong defensively and was able to pick up ball for us in crucial moments this season.
“Aside from her on-court talent, Leesa has an infectious personality and is an absolute joy to have in our team, so I’m thrilled she’ll be back in the squad for 2026,” Reynolds said.
