A 25 year-old man is in a critical condition after falling into a large hole and being buried on a Bribie Island beach on the weekend.
Josh Taylor was sitting near the hole, which a group of friends had dug to cook a pig in, when it collapsed and he fell into it head first.
He was covered by sand with just his feet showing around 2pm on Saturday.
A witness said 15 people tied rope to his feet and attempted to pull him out but it took a while.
He didn’t have a pulse when he was eventually freed but his friends performed CPR and then a ranger used a defibrillator to revive him.
He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
