A 47-year-old has been extradited from New South Wales after a man was found deceased in Caboolture South on Sunday, December 1.
Police were called to a commercial storage facility on Morayfield Road around 11.45am where they located a 60-year-old Caboolture man dead inside a caravan that was being stored at the facility.
Detectives from Caboolture Criminal Investigation Branch, supported by the Homicide Squad, established investigations into the circumstances of the death under Operation Whiskey Dweller.
Investigations led police to believe that the man had been allegedly assaulted and moved into the caravan earlier that day by his stepson.
The younger man left the area prior to police attending but was arrested at a motel in Ballina on Thursday morning.
He has been charged with one count of murder – domestic violence offence and appeared in Ballina Local Court to face extradition proceedings.
He has been remanded in custody and has been transported to the Caboolture Magistrates Court where he is expected to appear Friday, December 6.
