Police have charged a man following investigations into an alleged assault in Coolum Beach on New Year’s Eve.
Officers were called to the Coolum Surf Club on David Low Way around 11.50pm on December 31, following reports a male employee in his 20s had been allegedly assaulted by a male patron.
The employee sustained non-life-threatening head injuries and was taken to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
Following an appeal for information, a 57-year-old Peregian Springs man has been arrested and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
He is expected to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 20.
