Two people have died in separate crashes in our region.
Just after midnight a grey Honda Civic was travelling along Morayfield Road, near Walkers Road, when it lost control and hit a tree.
The driver, a 25-year-old Morayfield man, was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The passenger, a 77-year-old Morayfield woman, died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
Meanwhile, the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash in Cootharaba yesterday afternoon.
About 12.20pm, a white Mitsubishi Magna and a Triumph Tiger motorbike collided at the intersection of McKinnon Drive and Louis Bazzo Drive.
The rider, a 76-year-old Glass House Mountains man, died at the scene.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 59-year-old Cooroibah woman, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision are urged to contact police.
