E-scooter rider critically injured

A woman is fighting for life in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a serious e-scooter crash on the Sunshine Coast.

Initial investigations indicate, around 12.30pm yesterday the 33-year-old woman was riding the e-scooter along Beerburrum Street in Aroona when she lost control and crashed.

She was rushed to SCUH with critical injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.

There were at least 18 e-scooter and e-bike crashes on the weekend across Queensland on the weekend where the riders were taken to hospital by paramedics.

Meanwhile, a teenage boy has been taken to hospital after falling off his e-scooter in Maleny.

He has leg and head injuries and is in a stable condition after the incident on Hooper Road at 6.24 last night.
