Crime scene declared on Bribie Island, after woman found dead during welfare check

A crime scene has been declared at a Bribie Island home, after a woman was found deceased.

Police officers located the 51-year-old woman’s body, while doing a welfare check at a Melia Street property at Bongaree around 9pm on Thursday night.

An investigations has been launched into her death.

Police are appealing to anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the vicinity of Melia Street between the evening of February 14 and the evening of February 16, to come forward.
