Last season’s beaten grand finalists will hold a meet and greet at Mooloolaba on Thursday between 4pm and 5pm and there is an open training session at the Maroochydore sports complex on Friday from 8am.

The number of juniors playing AFL on the coast increased by 15 percent last year and AFL Queensland’s Richie Lyons hopes the Lions visit boost numbers.

Richie is a former Noosa Tiger and he said the coast has produced some stars currently playing in the men’s and women’s elite AFL competition, including Eric Hipwood from Caloundra, Jake O’Payne from Noosa and Belle Dawes, Shannon Campbell and Lily Postlethwaite.
