A 12-year-old Sunshine Coast boy has died from injuries he sustained after being hit by an alleged drunk driver at Bli Bli earlier this month.
Dawlon Smith-Saunders was hit by a Mazda ute driven by a 27 year-old man on David Low Way on September 3.
He’d been riding a scooter.
He was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital where he passed away on Sunday after his family turned off his life support.
The driver of the ute was served a notice to appear for drink driving after returning a reading of 0.069.
He will appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on October 30.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing and additional charges are expected to be laid.
