An alleged bikie has been arrested on the Sunshine Coast, following an assault at a south east Queensland hospital.
Police allege a 41-year-old man walked up to a 45-year-old man in the emergency waiting room at the Gold Coast University Hospital at around 2.30am on Monday, before violently assaulting him.
The men aren’t believed to be known to each other.
Investigators says the alleged member of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang then left the hospital before police arrived, and attended a residence in Maudsland, where he removed his electronic monitoring device just before 8am.
Officers from Taskforce Maxima managed to track the man to the Sunshine Coast, where he was arrested without incident at Caloundra around 1.30pm.
The 41-year-old since been charged with a string of offences including assault occasioning bodily harm and breach of bail.
He was refused police bail and will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
