Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writer’s Festival

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writers Festival is now in its third year. For 2026 we are celebrating the theme A Constellation of Stories. With a nod to our reputation as a Dark Sky region, we will explore how diverse narratives, experiences, and imaginations shine together beneath one shared sky. 

The festival will take place from 2–4 May 2026 across picturesque venues in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, bringing together writers and audiences for events that span genres and forms. 

The main event is held on May 3 at the Maleny Showgrounds with full or half-day passes available to meet a range of published authors to hear the stories behind their books as well as meet local indie authors at the free book fair on site.
