HQPlantations Community Open Day, Beerburrum

HQPlantations Beerburrum are hosting a Community Open Day on Saturday 19 July, from 9am to 2pm!

Who are HQP you ask? Well, HQP is one of the largest plantation growers in Australia who manage forests in a sustainable way. They manage Queensland’s commercial pine plantations under a 99 year lease arrangement with the Queensland State Government.

So, if you’ve ever wondered about all the trees you drive past along the Bruce Highway at Beerburrum or love to venture into the forest, you might like to  get along to the Beerburrum Community Open Day where you can meet the foresters and get up close with the tech used to grow sustainable pine plantations — from seedling to sawmill!

You can learn about HQP’s commitment to being good stewards and how important the plantations are for cleaning the air we breathe.

You can check out the fire fighting tanker and equipment, talk with HQP staff and contractors, grab a Rotary sausage sizzle, and go in the draw to win awesome prizes — like a family pass to Australia Zoo or Big Kart Track tickets!

Did you know that around 25 000 house frames are made every year from sustainable plantation timber!

It’s all happening at HQPlantations, Red Road, Beerburrum — just off Steve Irwin Way. Free entry and parking on-site!

Fun, food, forestry — and futures being grown right here in your backyard!
