Sam Saves the Reef
For the past five years, our very own Sam and his daughter Poppy have teamed up with Subsurface Scuba to establish the Reef Clean Team.
Reef Clean Team is a dedicated group of scuba divers who actively clean the reef systems of the sunshine coast removing rubbish, debris and fishing tackle from Noosa to Caloundra and everywhere in between.
The Reef Clean Team is responsible for the removal of kilometres of fishing line, dozens of anchors, truck batteries, even a queen-sized mattress.
They dive at least once per week and have now established Reef Clean Teams in 5 other countries around the world.
They love introducing new people to diving and the team and reckon the Sunny Coast reef is worth looking after.
