A $627 parking fine?!
Imagine heading off to watch some local footy, parking your car and getting on with your day… only to discover you’ve been hit with a $627 parking fine.
That’s exactly what happened to dozens of Aussies in Victoria, and unsurprisingly, they were NOT happy about it.
The fines were handed out around local sporting grounds during August, with 42 people copping the hefty penalty.
They kicked up a stink… and won
After residents erupted over the fines, the local council has now backed down and cancelled them.
Anyone who has already paid will get their money back, while the council is also reviewing similar fines issued at the site going back to July 2024.
The council has reportedly apologised, saying it understands the frustration caused by the fines.
And honestly… we can imagine the reaction when that $627 notice landed in the letterbox.
