Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist in relation to incidents at the Wurtulla Beach lifeguard tower last month.

On January 10, around 2.40am, a man used the surf life saving 24-hour emergency phone at Beach Access 248 off Oceanic Drive to report someone had been swept out to sea.

Lifeguards and police searched the area, but no one was located.

They were called back two days later at 3am following a similar phone call and a subsequent search again failed to locate anyone.

The man or anyone who recognises him is asked to come forward.

Anyone who has any information or vision about either incident is urged to contact police.
