Investigations are underway after a man was shot and killed by police in Caboolture this morning.
Initial investigations indicate around 3.42am, police responded to reports a man had been stabbed by another man at the intersection of Beerburrum Road and Commercial Drive.
The alleged offender then fled on foot.
A short time later, police located the armed offender threatening a female member of the public on Margaret Street and an officer shot him.
The man died at the scene.
The woman received a laceration but didn’t need to be taken to hospital by paramedics.
The man in his 40s, who was attacked, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with a potentially life-threatening stab wound to his neck.
The incident is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission and State Coroner.
