Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to three assaults that allegedly occurred in Imbil last week.

Around 3pm last Wednesday, a 45-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted at a park on Imbil Island Road.

It’s alleged the woman was offering assistance to an intoxicated teenager, when a friend of the teenager struck her, causing minor injuries, then leaving prior to police arriving.

Half an hour later on the same day on Ray Myers Road, a 15-year-old boy alleged to be severely intoxicated and unable to stand unsupported allegedly struck a police officer in the leg while throwing rocks at them.

After being arrested he is also alleged to have smashed the rear window of a police vehicle after kicking it from the inside.

The teenager was released into the care of paramedics, however police will continue investigations in relation to the alleged serious assault of police, obstructing police and wilful damage of police property.

Meanwhile, last Thursday at 6pm, a 43-year-old man allegedly physically assaulted a woman in a car park at a Yabba Road business.

The man has been charged with serious assault of a person over 60 years, and will appear before Gympie Magistrates Court on November 11.

Investigations into these assaults are continuing, and anyone who witnessed these matters are encouraged to contact police.

In late September, there were three alleged assaults, including of a police officer in the campground outside the Imbil rodeo.

Police are reminding residents that antisocial behaviour and violence towards officers will not be tolerated.
